For this runway show, designers Gale and Rachel aim to return to the brand's original vision of simple living, exploring the essence and depth of life. The collection, titled "9th Shangri-La," is centered around the concept of Shangri-La—a place of longing in people's hearts, a place they have never been but deeply desire. For the creators, this name symbolizes both what can and cannot be attained in life, representing the fleeting brilliance before the light fades completely. The passage of time is reflected in the subtle luxury of embroidered florals, beginning with soft beige and earth tones, like classical musical notes slowly playing out the path from life to its eventual decay and death, culminating in a brilliant flash of golden light. The collection interprets the essence of life and death through irregular garment structures in dark, leather-like, copper-toned black. The design incorporates intricate weaving and elements inspired by minority cultures, blending these into the overall silhouette to evoke a sense of zen-like contemplation on life's impermanence.
